WHERE IS THE UPDATED PARKS and PLAY STRATEGY?

It is more than six months since the draft Parks and Play Strategy was exhibited for public comment (November 2025 – January 2026), & the community is still waiting to see the revised Strategy.

MCA participated in the process to provide a detailed submission reflecting community views on improving parks, playspaces and recreation opportunities across Yass Valley. We appreciate the opportunity to contribute & look forward to seeing how community feedback has been considered.

A contemporary Strategy is important to guide future growth, ensuring recreation & open space planning is embedded early in new developments, identifying future regional park opportunities, and providing inclusive recreation spaces for all ages—from babies & young children through to teenagers, adults and seniors.

With significant growth happening in Yass Valley, strategic planning for future recreation opportunities is increasingly important. We encourage Council to release the revised Strategy & consultation outcomes as soon as possible so the community can understand the proposed direction & priorities for the years ahead.
