MCA Requests Council to release more Recreational Land In Murrumbateman

At our quarterly meeting with Yass Valley Council Staff and CEO Gayleen Burley, the MCA Executive team presented a proposal requesting Council release greenfield land in Hawthorn so that Murrumbateman can have more recreational space and facilities for its residents.  The site identified is close to the geographic centre of Murrumbateman, and will integrate into the future development of ‘North Murrumbateman’, providing a central recreational space for the whole community now and into the future. This is not a new request, it has been discussed and promised by Yass Council since 2010.

The MCA believes an allocation of approximately 12 hectares will allow construction of much needed community recreational facilities can happen in a stages and ahead of the Murrumbateman Master Plan, which is some 12-18 months away.
