On Monday 11 May, TheMCA exec met with the Yass Valley Council Executive team for our quarterly catchup.
It was once a very productive meeting with topics such as the rec grounds, Field days and Barton Highway pedestrian crossing discussed.
Other points raised include :
>The need for more recreational space in Murrumbateman, and the urgency for the Master plan to be accelerated as much as possible so that a suitable area in the Hawthorn land area can be releases asap.
>Rose street safety. We discussed ways to improve safety for school children, pedestrians , cyclists and cars in Rose Street. Some very good ideas arose from these discussions and we hope to see progress towards a dedicated crossing and installing a footpath between North Street and Hercules street to link the school/shops/daycare/preschool to the Hercules St shops/school bus stop/playground. Watch this space!
